Description:

Teams can apply together. Individual applicants are, if they wish for it, matched up with a teammate by us. In a qualifier, you choose one of three problem statements to respond to. To help you prepare, you are told the topics 10 days before the event, but the exact problem statement is only revealed at the start of the actual qualifier event. Then you have 3 hours to research (with internet connection) and write essay responses to questions related to the problem statement. ClimateScience will score each team's solution. All participants will receive a certificate and top participants a special honour.

Rising Researchers

Running from July 26 – August 20, 2021, students will have the opportunity to conduct live research at home while engaging in group discussion and classes online. Taught by a scientist from UMass, participants are actively engaged with research on microbial genetics and bacteria. With evening classes, this is the perfect opportunity for students supplementing an internship or summer class.
